Samaritans Awareness Day
Article Date: 25-07-2019
On the 24th July it was Samaritans Awareness Day, the Charity that takes anonymous calls to those who need to speak to someone without judgement.
“Samaritans is a unique charity dedicated to reducing feelings of isolation and disconnection that can lead to suicide. Every six seconds we respond to a call for help. On a yearly basis, we answer more than 5 million calls for help by phone, email, SMS, letter, face to face at one of our local branches and through our Welsh language service. We're here 24/7, before, during and after a crisis.”
“Whether it’s an ‘are you ok?’ at just the right moment, or the midnight support of a trained volunteer; whether it's better training in the workplace or campaigning for more investment in national and local suicide prevention – we're here. Our charity works to make sure there’s always someone there, for anyone who needs someone.”
How to get in touch:
You can call Samaritans for free on 116 123 at any time to speak anonymously about whatever you like.
Nobody should suffer in silence, speak out.
