Meet The Team: Em Glen

Article Date: 31-05-2019

This month we took some time to interview our North West and North East Bookings Consultant, Em, to get her opinion on what makes a good worker, where she’s recruiting and find out some interesting things about her that our workers may be surprised to know.

What’s your job title?

Here at Estio my job title is ‘North West & North East Bookings Consultant’. My role is to speak with clients on a daily basis to discuss their needs and wants from both us at Estio and our workers. I also communicate with our workers on a daily basis to keep them up-to-date with the likes of shifts, temp-to perms, and see what their availability is for the week.

What areas are you recruiting in?

We are currently recruiting all over Manchester area and others beyond, looking for both carers and support workers! We’ve recently started branching out to both the Stoke-On-Trent area and Liverpool, where we have a large demand for support workers both male and female, to work in learning disabilities setting and supported living. Both areas have a mixture of shifts days, lates, nights – if this sounds like something you’d be interested please don’t hesitate to get in contact today!

What are some hobbies/things you’re finding interesting at the moment?

I regularly enjoy going to the gym after work each evening – and sometimes at the weekend if I’m feeling extra determined!

In your opinion what makes a great support worker?

For me a good support worker needs to show compassion, as I believe this helps them connect more with the client. They must also be empathetic towards them, and be ready to help them out with every need they require no matter how small or big it may seem to them, I think being empathetic also shows how genuine you are. A smile will always go along way as well – be cheery! Lastly I think have a willingness to listen to them, about anything and everything goes a long way as well, and that’s something everyone always remembers.

Can you tell us one thing about you that your candidates will be surprised to know?

I have a degree in journalism, where I also learnt about marketing and public relations and media laws, which I studied for, for three years.

If you’d like to work in the North West and/or North West – don’t hesitate to call Em on 0161 660 7578 or 0191 303 7746 today where she’ll be more than happy to take your call.
