Jess: Working in the West Midlands
Article Date: 16-02-2019
This month we’re speaking to Jess, our bookings consultant who covers the West Midlands. We asked her some questions about her role, and what the roles are like that she’s promoting.
“So Jess, what can you tell us about your role?”
My job title here at Estio is ‘West Midlands Bookings Consultant’. My role consists of communicating with our clients and finding the right kind of shifts and settings for our workers. My role also involves keeping in contact with our workers and clients on a weekly basis to make sure both workers and clients are happy with Estio. I’m also here to help out with anything else that clients and candidates need, as are the rest of the team.
“You mentioned you’re covering the West Midlands, can you tell us more about the roles and the type of person you’re looking for?”
The roles I have in the West Midlands are mainly learning disability and supported living settings, these are a mixture of adult services and children services. We have these services in all different parts of the West Midlands such as Dudley, Telford, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Birmingham and a few other areas too. We’ve currently got a position in a children’s service where workers are wanted for regular hours on a weekly basis for either days or nights. Does this sound like something you or someone you know would be interested in? If it does, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
“So, how do people from the West Midlands contact you and vice-versa?”
When communicating with our workers, the majority is actioned through the phones. I ring our workers to see what their availability is, to offer shifts and to see if everything is okay. We often ask our workers to contact us if their availability changes or if there is anything they are unsure about so we can update it on the system and try our best to help. My contact number is 0844 264 2233 however if workers just need to contact the office to speak to any member of staff they can call 01422 357707.
“Can you tell us one think about you that your candidates will be surprised to know?”
Before working in the office at Estio, I worked as a support worker for 2 and a half years working with adults in a learning disability setting. I was very fond of the job and enjoyed it very much however I did decide I wanted a career change and to do something different.
